Floyd Mayweather suffers hand injury, fight with Pacquiao postponed.
Fight of the Century delayed - broken wrist foils fighting plans Floyd Mayweather. vs. Manny Pacquiao, billed as The Fight of the Century was supposed to be happening on 2nd of May. The fight has been in the works for a long time, as early as 2009, but despite predictions that Mayweather–Pacquiao would be the highest grossing fight in history, disagreements between the two boxers' camps on terms for the fight prevented the bout from coming to fruition until May 2nd 2015 - now however, there's been yet another delay.
Floyd Mayweather, a man with a perfect professional track record, with 47 wins and 0 losses, was injured this morning after he had an accident with his sons skateboard. According to reports, Floyd was playing with his son in his driveway when he attempted to make an advanced jump with a skateboard, an action that resulted in a heavy fall and a sprained wrist. Mayweather was driven to hospital where a medical professional concluded that he would not be able to fight on the 2nd of May.
Mayweather commented the incident: "It's bullshit, but what's happened has happened you know. I was getting really amped about getting into the ring and winning on the 2nd, and I know it must suck for all my fans too. I'm just going to heal and get back to training as quickly as possible and be in the best shape possible this Fall." A new date as been set for the gigantic fight, the 14th of October, and thus boxing enthusiasts are going to have to wait the whole summer before getting to see the big showdown.
