Charity match between Floyd Mayweather and Dolph Lundgren scheduled for 2016
Row of Rocky proportions - Mayweather and Lundgren to go head to head in May 2016
Only a day after the Fight of the Century went down in LA, a new, star spangled fight has been announced. Next year, as a means to raise funds for bone marrow cancer, a fight between last night’s champion, Floyd Mayweather and Swedish actor/martial artist, Dolph Lundgren has been scheduled for May 2nd 2016. Dolph Lundgren, the 6’5” scandinavian giant, most famous for facing Sylvester Stallone in 1985’s Rocky IV, is not a boxer by trade, but has received some formal training in preparation for many of his film roles. He has no delusions that he will win, but will face Mayweather “for a good time and a good cause”.
- When the arrangers called me I thought they’d called the wrong guy, I mean, I’m not even a boxer, but when they explained to me what the event is going to be all about, I’m willing to take a few punches. Maybe next time I get to beat Mayweather in acting”
Undefeated Champion Floyd Mayweather, busy celebrating last night's victory, gave a brief comment about the upcoming fight: - I mean I love Dolph, I grew up watching his films and even though I know I'm going to beat his ass, It's for a good cause so I'm cool with it. The countdown is on, and it's undeniable that this is going to be an epic showdown To discuss the future fight, tweet under #FloydVsDolph
