The Royal Baby to be named Shaniqua Elizabeth Charlotte
This saturday the second child of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton was born at S:t Mary's hospital in Paddington in London. Two days later, the brittish royal couple are announcing her name: Shaniqua Elizabeth Charlotte, who will be princess Charlott of Cambridge. It had already been speculated that the couple would give her the feminine version of the name Charles, Williams father and her grand grandmother's name Elizabeth, but the name "Shaniqua" was completely unexpected. This is what they had to say about the name choice: "We wanted to give our daughter an international name given that we live in such a global world. The African American name Shaniqua seemed like the perfect fit and is a perfect tribute to the people living in formerly British African colonies. We know it's no traditional English name, but the world is changing." In 2013, William and Kate had princess Shaniqua's brother, prince George.
