STOP feeding your children healthy foods - it's fatphobic


Fat-positive feminist Cassidy Boon wants to see a change in what we feed our kids I have had it. I have had it with the fitness craze. I’ve had it with the constant lies about obesity. What you’re doing to your kids is INEXCUSABLE! It has got to end, like, NOW!

If you’re feeding your kids all these lentils, hummus, kale or whatever mushy green stuff, you’re literally what’s wrong with the world. That’s right, giving your kids so-called “healthy” food is very problematic and I’m going to tell you why. First of all, by teaching your kids that eating “healthy” food is good, you’re indirectly saying that eating “unhealthy” foods is bad. This is in turn very wrong as it sends signals to your kids that being fat is not an acceptable thing – you’re teaching your kids that they shouldn’t be obese – THAT is very fatphobic.

Don’t know what fatphobia is? Well then, let me educate you. Fatphobia is the belief that being overweight or fat is a bad thing. It’s the act of telling fat people that they should lose weight. It’s laughing at fat jokes. It’s the almost religious belief in the lies that phony doctors and physicians peddle about obesity being dangerous for your health. Fatphobia is, like, rampant all around the world and it’s parents like YOU, who’re perpetuating it by giving your kids healthy junk.

The truth is that there is no correlation between being fat and being unhealthy. There are fat people who’re really healthy and there are plenty of skinny people who’re sick. The only people who want you to believe that obesity is connected to diseases such as heart problems or cancer are phony doctors and dieticians who sell you their disgusting non-nutritious shakes AND YOU’RE EATING IT ALL UP, literally. There’s this huge conspiracy to put fat people down so that they will feel bad about themselves and buy shitty weight-loss products. I, as a fat-positive, body-positive feminist, realize that this is the way it all works.

Anyways, parents, listen to me now, okay because I’ve got something very important to say. STOP FEEDING YOUR KIDS HEALTHY FOODS. So-called healthy foods, carrots, non-fried chicken, and blueberries, don’t contain enough calories to get your children to a healthy weight. You’re really doing your kids a disservice if you feed them that crap. Children SHOULD be a little chubby to help them grow and keep warm and comfortable during winter. Do you really want your child to become a stuck up, skinny bully because he’s been taught his whole life that it’s wrong to be fat.

The truth is, there are no unhealthy foods – there are just foods with varying calorie content. You should start feeding your child a balanced diet, complete with lots of oils, cream and sugar- you don’t want your kids to starve to death on beets right? Everything you’ve been taught about what is healthy and not is false. It’s important that your child embraces that being fat can be a very positive thing and that he or she can be comfortable with his or her body however he or she looks. The thing we need to teach our kids is that it doesn’t matter if you’re slim (like me) or fat, the main thing is that they are comfortable in their own bodies. So stop feeding them the healthy bullshit, it's contributing to a fat-hating culture that none of us want to be a part of.
