Fresh Off the Boat TV shows second season cancelled by ABC
Asian-Americans on air cancelled – popular ABC comedy show will not get a second season.
“Fresh Off the Boat” an ABC comedy that centres around the life of chef and food personality Eddie Huang and his book Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir. The story follows the course of Eddie Huang's Chinese family as they make their way from Washington, D.C. to Orlando, Florida to open up a steak restaurant in 1995 and has been a huge hit, the two first preview episodes garnering 8 million viewers. This morning however, at a press conference in Miami, ABC has announced that they will not renew the show for a second season. On May 7th a preliminary statement issued from the company stated that the show would indeed be renewed, but that confirmation seems to have been rescinded this morning.
The reason for the cancellation is unknown, but due to the gradual trailing off of the viewers as the first season went on, one might assume that financial losses have made a second season an impossibility.
