Pizza Hut introduces Twinkie-crust
Your pizza crust just got a whole lot creamier - Pizza hut and Hostess team up for a Twinkie crust
In a press release issued this afternoon, fastfood chain Pizza Hut announced that they would be collaborating with dessert maker Hostess, launching a new, limited edition pizza with Twinkie-crust.The crust will feature the spongecake shell and the creamy inside that we all know and love in Twinkies, and will be baked at 12 degrees lower than regular pizzas, so as to not burn the spongecake. We contact Peter Rone, head of PR at Pizza Hut and ask him to give us his thoughts about the new products and why it was made: - This idea has been floating around within the companies for years and I'm happy that it's finally coming into fruition. It's been a long process developing this product and as you might have guessed, getting the sweetness of the Twinkie crust to go hand in hand with the savory pizza wasn't easy, but in the end, we think we've found the perfect balance. This is a delicious product and I'm looking forward to sharing it with all our customers.

- We see this as a fun challenge to reinvigorate our brand, but we will not continue with this product forever as the cost of production is too high. Enjoy it while it lasts folks!
The new pizza will be launched on the 12th of July and that's promising for all those peckish for pizza in the summer heat.
