Watercolor painting of dogs behind sells for $6.8 million
I could do that! - simplistic water color painting of dog's behind by obscure French artist sells for 6.8 million dollars New York - A Sotheby art auction has seen a record breaking sale. This morning, a simple watercolor painting, painted by obscure French artist Jaques Juan Brindille was sold for 6.8 million dollars after a fierce bidding battle. The painting, which is painted with the same type of watercolors that can be found in Day Care Centers across the world, features a dog's rear and is titled "The dog of Canterbury Square brings you silver belongings and tidings of the future" and is according to the artist himself, a representation of "The human proclivity to always envision a new golden dawn after the fall of the contemporary religious paradigms and subsequently their inevitable disillusion in seeing that a new God (dog backwards) is the harbinger of nothing but a vacant smile and not the fruits of salvation". The painting features one small, rather shocking detail (besides the dog's butt), Brindille has glued on strands of his own pubic hair onto the painting with the motivation: "there needed to be some human on there, not just paint"
The buyer of the piece is Vladimir Brunosos, a Georgian-Russian multi-millionaire and art collector who is know to spend vast amounts of money on modern art. Brunosos was extremely happy with the purchase, this is what he had to say in an interview with RT: "This is really a dream painting and I couldn't be more happy with procuring this exquisite item! This will complete my collection famously. Brindille is really one of my favourite up and coming Avant Garde artists and I even though I don't know much about him, no one does, I am excited to see what he comes up with next, "The dog of Canterbury Square brings you silver belongings and tidings of the future" is only the beginning! The artist himself declined an interview with us and has reportedly already returned to France to start his next masterpiece - and who knows, maybe this time he'll go for cat's posteriors?
Close up of...yeah.
