"Finding Nemo" sequel "Finding Dory" cancelled

Dory will never be found - Pixar Animation bins "Finding Nemo" sequel

In 2003, one clownfish charmed the world, his name was Nemo and the search for him touched millions of cinema goers. In 2014, it was announced that one of the most memorable characters from the film, Dory, the amnesiac fish voiced by Ellen DeGeneres who helps Nemo's father in his seawide search for his son, was to star in the sequel to the animated hit. The movie would be slated for a 2016 release, titled "Finding Dory". Needless to say, fans of the original films were overjoyed at the news, and it is with a heavy heart that we can today report that "Finding Dory" has been cancelled.

In a press release issued by Pixar Animaton Studios this morning, it became clear that the studio had cancelled the project - for good. This is what Director Andrew Stanton had to say:

"It is not easy to say this, but unfortunately I have to - "Finding Dory" is hereby no longer a project that will be prioritized by Pixar. After nearly 3 years of production we are forced to let this one go, due to reasons that will not be disclosed here and now. I thank everyone who has been involved in this cinematic journey and I hope that all those who loved "Finding Nemo" will understand that this is a decision that had to be made"

Speculations as to what caused Pixar to cancell the film are already running rampant online and most people cannot imagine that financial reasons are to blame seeing that "Finding Nemo" grossed nearly 1 Billion dollars at the Box Office. Until further details emerge, the cancellation of this much anticipated film will remain a mystery.
