American Horror Story Season 5 Cancelled

"Horror Story" gets the boot - already filmed fifth season of American Horror Story cancelled.

The incredibly popular horror series "American Horror Story" was supposed to air October this year and was to star none other than Lady Gaga among the already familiar cast - but now, Fox reports that the show will not hit Television and that all future seasons of the show are cancelled. American Horror Story, or AHS, as it is known by fans, seduced Americans in 2011 when the first season aired, enthralling viewers with it's dangerous mix of sex, horror and drama. Since then, 4 seasons have been made, each following a new storyline and taking place in a new setting. The show has an garnered impressively sized audience and has drawn the biggest audiences for three years in a row. Now, however, it seems like it's all coming to an end.

At a pressconference this morning in LA, one of the creators Brad Falchuck, confirmed rumours that have been swirling around Social Media for months - there will be no 5th season of AHS. This is what he had to say: "Ryan and I made the decision before the summer but have waited until now to announce these sad news. Despite a fifth season of American Horror Storytitled "Hotel" having been almost completed, we will not air it in October as we have previously said, in fact, we won't be airing it at all. This decision has been made after some personal differences between Fox and us creators and I am afraid these conflicts are too dire for us to be able to salvage the show. I dearly hope that fans will understand our decision and remember AHS for what it was, not what it didn't become"

Several promotional clips and posters have already been released for the unaired season, but Falchuck insists that they were just there to make fans not lose all hope before a final decision had been made. The inclusion of Lady Gaga appears to also have been a publicity stunt to create a buzz about the show when it was still slated, but Falchuck apologizes for inflating peoples' expectations even after the future of the show started getting rocky. Star of the show, 20 year old Taissa Farmiga commented the cancellation: "It's really sad, the cast and crew have become like a family to me, I grew up around these people, I am proud of everything we've done"
